WE HAVE AIR!

(Pictured: Mike Ramser)

Thanks to Mike Ramser, Fred Heimann, Steve Mengerink, and Larry Nighswander our four new auditorium air conditioners are up and running!

As of last Saturday, the former Horace Mann School Gym which was built in 1953 has air conditioning for the very first time! This is the new Liberty Baptist Church auditorium, and this summer, it is all coming together! Today, all 30 of the ceiling light bulbs were installed and the pulpit platform is being built. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the tireless volunteer workers and to all of you who have given sacrificially to see this project through. I really believe we will be worshipping in this beautifully remodeled room by the first Sunday of September,2010.

WENT TO THE ATLANTIC SIDE OF FLORIDA!

Coletta (my wife) and I just got back this Tuesday from a week at Florida. We were at Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona Beach, on the Atlantic side. Very relaxing and refreshing. Here I am getting my picture taken by Coletta with the Atlantic Ocean behind me. No tar balls. It was hot and humid, but very nice. I thank the Lord for a safe flight down and back. Below is a picture of my wife and me on our 34th anniversary.

We sure will be thinking about this trip for a long time. After flying down and back from Dayton to Daytona, my arms sure are tired.

THE LAST CHURCH BUILDING LAP, 2010

This is the front of our school that we bought that we are converting into a church building. This coming December will be our second year in our new building. Our church has capable men and women who have worked tirelessly day and night to provide materials and labor to finish the job. Many sacrifices have been made by God's people to get this project completed. This summer, we are on our last lap striving to complete the old gym to make it our future main auditorium.

Please pray with us that God will miraculously provide the needed funds to complete this task. Our Building Dedication will be Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at 2 pm. Our speaker is Dr. Bob Jones, III, Chancellor of Bob Jones University.

BLUEWATER SUCCESS!

Last Tuesday was history for the Liberty Baptist Church men of Van Wert, Ohio. To my knowledge, this was "a first" in the 28 years of our church's existence. With just one week's notice, we invited our church men by Emails, a church announcement, and a few phone calls to drop everything and go to a campground to spend a week day fishing, eating, sitting around the campfire, and fellowshipping.

12 men journeyed out to Grover Hill, Ohio to Bluewater Campground during the day, with an additional four men coming in the evening to make our total attendance 16. Travis Kittle and I were burdened to try and encourage the men of our church who where laid off, and also invite men who could take a day off work or come after their work day for some Christian "R & R." A couple of the guys actually got out at our camper in time to throw some sausage on the open fire for breakfast. The other men enjoyed lunch and supper again, cooked over an open fire.

A lot of the guys fished all day, a few played mini-golf, and my main fun was just hanging out with "the church guys," keeping some fresh coffee on all day and drinking plenty of coffee myself! This was great healing for our souls, and I believe a great victory for the Lord and the Liberty men to help draw us closer to the Lord and more united as the "Men of Liberty."

Thanks to all of you who helped last Tuesday be a one day camp success.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!

Thank God, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day! Due to Christ's resurrection, we have the hope of heaven by putting our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. (John 14:6, Romans 6:23).

We had a great day at church with 163 in attendance, a good spirit, several visitors. Our son, Matt, Jenny, and granddaughter, Miley joined us for the day. Praise God for His wonderful goodness to the Liberty Baptist Church of Van Wert, Ohio, and His goodness to our family. Our second son, Aaron Burns celebrated Easter with friends in China where he lives. Once again, we miss Aaron dearly during the Holidays and every day, but we thank God that He is protecting and providing for Aaron, and that God is using Aaron to be a testimony for Him!
